1. Get started
- Upload supported MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, AIFF, Opus, WebM, MP4, MKV, AVI, 3GP, FLV, MPEG, and other media files up to 2 GB each.
- Paste a public YouTube URL and Knovox will create the transcript automatically.
Knovox works in the background, so you can return anytime to check progress.
2. Transcription and progress
- You will see “Waiting to start” while content is waiting and “In progress” once work has started.
- When it is ready, you can edit, summarize, and export it; if something goes wrong, the page explains what to do next.
- Free, Basic, Standard, and Pro can process 1, 3, 6, and 10 items at a time respectively.
AI output should be reviewed by a person.
3. Review and speakers
- Edit segment text directly and save the updated transcript.
- Renaming a speaker updates every matching segment in the transcript.
- Noise, accents, and overlapping speech can affect timestamps and speaker detection.
Turn the full transcript into structured, use-case-specific output.
4. Summaries and templates
- Free includes the General AI summary, mind maps, and PNG export; paid plans unlock the other 6 built-in templates and Mermaid, Canvas, and XMind exports.
- Choose a built-in template to get a clear, consistent format for your results.
- Summaries can be regenerated after transcription and include key points, chapters, decisions, and notable quotes.
Use your results in documents, captions, and the tools you already work with.
5. Export, sharing, and integrations
- Export a transcript as TXT, DOCX, PDF, SRT, VTT, CSV, Markdown, or JSON.
- Every plan can export a generated mind map as PNG; Basic, Standard, and Pro can also export Mermaid Markdown, Obsidian Canvas, or an XMind 2020+ file. Exported nodes keep their timestamp text.
- Select 2–25 completed library items and download them together as a ZIP file.
- Create expiring, revocable share links with content controls, or sync to Notion or send results to other tools through a webhook.

6. Security, storage, and accounts
- Paid projects remain available until you delete them.
- Only you can access a project unless you create a share link.
- Manage signed-in devices, turn on two-factor authentication, export content, or close your account.
